We chat about some of the myths that have been going around about Excel.

This conversation focusses on Excel only as an historical analysis tool and that that is not good enough in modern day information analysis. This is obviously very far from the truth. Historical data analysis will always be important so we can measure the intended plans of the business against what actually happened. How will a business know what happened if it doesn’t analyse the past? This is a key activity in order to make sure that business and finance leaders can tap into trends that allow them to adjust strategies for future growth.

Data volume is also dealt with as there are those that believe that Excel still has a row limitation. This limit, while it exists in native Excel, is at 1 million rows of data, which is substantial. When you bring in the advanced capabilities of PowerPivot for Excel then the limitations become near endless.
